Cleary Gottlieb Wins Chambers Europe 2008 Award for Excellence for Belgium

Cleary Gottlieb has been named “Belgian Law Firm of the Year” by Chambers Europe. The first-ever Chambers Europe Awards for Excellence were presented at a dinner in Barcelona on May 8th.

The Law Firm of the Year award recognizes Cleary Gottlieb’s presence as a leader in the Belgian market, where, as in many other markets in Europe and elsewhere, Cleary Gottlieb is recognized for the quality of its advice and of its service to clients, as evidenced by its role in many of the largest and first-of-their-kind cases. Our Brussels office last year had the privilege of advising clients in several prominent transactions including the largest Belgian IPO of the year (and Belgium’s second largest ever), the second largest private equity transaction, and the first-ever public M&A transaction to take place under the new takeover rules.
