Cleary Gottlieb Hosts Virtual Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Celebration With Rohan Weerasinghe

Cleary Gottlieb hosted its Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration, “A Conversation With Rohan Weerasinghe,” general counsel and corporate secretary, Citigroup.

Over 230 guests attended the virtual event featuring Rohan. Brief welcome remarks were delivered by Managing Partner Michael Gerstenzang. Partner Lev Dassin and associate Soo Jee Lee moderated the discussion.

Rohan discussed his life and career as a trailblazer in the legal industry. Prior to joining Citi, he was a senior partner at Shearman & Sterling where he advised and represented financial institutions and corporations worldwide on issues including corporate governance, complex corporate transactions, and capital markets offerings, including IPOs and debt issues.

Rohan joined Citi in 2012 as general counsel and corporate secretary. As a member of Citi’s executive management team, he oversees Citi’s global legal team, including business-unit general counsels, regional general counsels, and corporate deputy general counsels. He also leads Citi Security & Investigative Services and co-leads Citi’s Asian Heritage Affinity network. Outside of Citi, he is also a Trustee of the Carnegie Endowment for Peace and a director on the board of The Clearing House Association.
