Cleary Gottlieb represented long-time client Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Mexico’s government-owned electric utility, in a $1.26 billion senior unsecured revolving credit facility.
The deal closed on July 31, 2018, and the initial borrowing occurred on August 16, 2018.
The financing was provided by a syndicate of banks with Mizuho Bank, Ltd. as the administrative agent. The proceeds of the loan will be used to refinance the repayment of an outstanding credit facility and for other general corporate purposes.
