Decathlon to Acquire Bergfreunde

Cleary Gottlieb is representing Decathlon S.E. (Decathlon) in its entry into a definitive agreement for the acquisition of Bergfreunde GmbH (Bergfreunde), an online specialist retailer for mountain sports, climbing, and outdoor equipment.

The transaction was signed on November 24, 2023. Closing remains subject to satisfaction of customary regulatory approvals.

Decathlon is a world leading maker and retailer of sporting goods. Founded and headquartered in France, Decathlon is active in more than 70 countries with over 1,700 stores.
