Edenred Converts Into European Company

June 1, 2021

Cleary Gottlieb advised Edenred in the conversion of its corporate form into a European company (societas europaea), in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EC) no. 2157/2001 of October 8, 2001, on the Statute for a European Company and Directive no. 2001/86/EC of October 8, 2001, on the involvement of employees.

Following the agreement reached with the special negotiating body, and the approvals by Edenred shareholders’ (and bondholders’) meetings, Edenred has been successfully converted into a European company.

The conversion of Edenred aims at reflecting the European and international dimension of the group in its legal form, and strengthening the attractiveness of the group.

Edenred is a leading services and payments platform, and the everyday companion for people at work, connecting 50 million employees and 2 million partner merchants in 46 countries via more than 850,000 corporate clients.
