Hewlett-Packard in Two Acquisitions

Cleary Gottlieb is representing Hewlett-Packard, the computer industry giant, in its acquisitions of Opsware, Inc., a market leader in data center automation software, and Neoware, Inc., a provider of thin client computing and virtualization solutions.  The separate transactions were announced on July 23, 2007 and are expected to close by the end of 2007.

The Opsware acquisition is valued at $1.6 billion, and the Neoware acquisition is valued at $334 million.

HP is a global provider to consumers, businesses and institutions of technology solutions, including IT infrastructure, computing, imaging and printing, with annual revenues totaling $91.7 billion in 2006.  Cleary Gottlieb previously represented HP in its 2006 acquisition of Knightsbridge Solutions and its 2005 acquisition of Peregrine Systems.
