Cleary Gottlieb represented Hillhouse Capital in its acquisition of The Loch Lomond Group (LLG), together with LLG’s management team, from Exponent Private Equity (Exponent).
The transaction signed and closed on June 6, 2019.
LLG is an international premium branded spirits business with a global presence in more than 120 countries, and is one of Scotland’s oldest and most iconic whisky producers. Its premium Scotch whisky brands include Loch Lomond, Glen Scotia, and Littlemill, the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland.
Exponent is one of the United Kingdom’s leading private equity firms. Its current and former investments Quorn Foods, Photobox Group, Big Bus Tours, the Ambassador Theatre Group, and Trainline.
