Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight Series: Natalie Ramirez

October 10, 2025

As part of our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, we’ve asked our colleagues to reflect on the significance of this month.

Cleary Gottlieb knowledge solutions assistant Natalie Ramirez shares some of her thoughts below.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Cleary.

I’m a first-generation Latina to graduate college. I’m half Mexican and Guatemalan. At Cleary, I work on the Knowledge Solutions team where I make sure data on the firm’s intranet is updated, and I’m the friendly face who responds to any requests that come through to the team’s mailbox.

What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you?

Hispanic Heritage Month feels like a piece of home away from home. It’s very important because Hispanic culture truly is all over the world! It always feels great to see so much culture at your workplace because this ends up being your second home.

Has your identity impacted how you approach your work and career?

Absolutely! I carry myself with so much joy and pride. I have a very supportive and strong family that taught me how to work and how to approach every situation at work with confidence.

Are there any leaders, activists, writers/artists, professionals, or family members who have inspired you?

My mother has been my biggest inspiration throughout my life.

When you’re underrepresented in your chosen field, why is it important to have mentors and sponsors who are invested in you and your career?

You feel at home, you don’t feel alone in times of uncertainty, and you feel at peace with what’s happening. Having people who believe in you makes all the difference.

What are the benefits of joining an affinity group at Cleary?

Getting to meet a community who gets you and understands where you come from! It’s like finding your people at work.

What is your favorite thing about working in the legal industry, and why did you choose to work at Cleary?

I’m always in the know, and if I have questions, I know exactly who I can ask for guidance. Cleary is always very welcoming and makes you feel like you belong.
