May 6, 2021

Cleary Gottlieb represented the Jackie Robinson Foundation Inc. (JRF), as borrower, in obtaining a bridge loan from Goldman Sachs Bank USA, in connection with the construction of the Jackie Robinson Museum in Lower Manhattan, New York City.

The 20,000 square foot museum space will include a permanent tribute to Jackie Robinson’s pioneering sports career and pivotal role in the civil rights movement, and will serve as a dynamic state-of-the-art venue to host educational programming and events that encourage visitors to examine critical social issues that Robinson addressed during his life and that continue to challenge society.

Founded in 1973, JRF will continue its primary mission to provide four-year college scholarships, extensive support services, and leadership development opportunities for high achieving students with limited financial resources.
