La Poste in Negotiation of New €650 Million Club Deal Financing

Cleary Gottlieb assisted La Poste, the French multi-business group structured around the courier, postal parcels/express services, the Banque Postale and the La Poste retail brand activities, in the negotiation and implementation of a new club deal credit agreement for a total principal amount of €650 million, as part of the refinancing on October 20, 2011 of the group’s existing credit revolving facility due to expire on December 2011.

The new €650 million credit agreement has been entered into with Barclays Capital, Commerzbank AG, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Deutsche Bank AG, HSBC France, La Banque Postale, Natixis, Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking, and The Royal Bank of Scotland as Mandated Lead Arrangers and Bookrunners. Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank served as Agent. The transaction allows the group to secure its financing sources for general corporate purposes for the next years, under very attractive terms and conditions.
