Cleary Gottlieb represented Goldman Sachs (Asia) LLC, the financial adviser to TOM Group Limited, a leading Chinese-language media conglomerate, in its US$200 million acquisition of TOM Online Inc. The “going-private” transaction, which was effected through a scheme of arrangement, became effective on August 31, 2007.
