Cleary Gottlieb represented Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), in its Ringgit Malaysia 2.74 billion initial public offering, the largest initial public offering in Malaysia since 2012. CIMB, Credit Suisse, J.P. Morgan and Maybank[,] acted as joint global coordinators. The shares were sold through a registered public offering in Malaysia and through a Rule 144A/Regulation S offering outside Malaysia. The deal priced on April 29, closed on May 13 and the shares were listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia on May 15.
Malakoff is the largest independent power producer in Malaysia and South East Asia based on generation capacity. It is also engaged in the independent water production and power generation business in the MENA region and the renewable energy business in Australia.
