Matteo Beretta Named Italian Competition Law Lawyer of the Year; Cleary Gottlieb Named Best Place to Work by TopLegal

Matteo Beretta was named Italian Competition Law Lawyer of the Year at the seventh edition of the TopLegal Awards, held in Milan on November 25, 2013. The nomination panel noted that Matteo successfully represented clients in numerous procedures before the EU and Italian competition authorities, as well as in proceedings before the EU courts.

In addition, Cleary Gottlieb was named Best Place to Work, thanks to the firm’s “internal growth, focus on education, commitment to individuality and collegiality.”

TopLegal is the specialized trade journal covering the Italian legal market. The shortlist and the final award for each category were determined by TopLegal, together with a panel composed of the general counsel of leading Italian companies, as well as professionals from the worlds of finance, business and communications.
