Petróleos Mexicanos in Increase of MTN Program to $12 Billion and Related $1 Billion Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented the Mexican state oil company Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), the fourth largest national oil and gas company in the world, in the increase on January 14 in the size of its Medium-Term Notes program from $7 billion to $12 billion. On February 5, PEMEX issued $1 billion of 6.000% notes due 2020 under its program; the notes were issued in a private placement (Rule 144A/Reg S) with registration rights.
