Republic of the Philippines in $1 Billion Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and UBS as underwriters in the Republic of the Philippines’ US-registered offering of $1 billion 8.00% bonds due 2016. This offering completed the Republic’s funding requirements for 2005. Cleary is designated underwriters’ counsel for offerings by the Republic, one of the most frequent sovereign borrowers in Asia.
