Cleary Gottlieb is representing SABMiller, in the proposed combination with AB InBev, on a variety of U.S. corporate and tax matters as well as related Belgian law questions.
Cleary Gottlieb has long-standing relationships with both SABMiller and Molson Coors. In connection with the creation of the MillerCoors US joint venture in 2007-2008, the firm was both U.S. corporate and tax counsel to SABMiller and antitrust counsel to Molson Coors. The firm has also advised SABMiller in relation to various other projects over the years, in the U.S. and elsewhere, and has provided other antitrust advice to Molson Coors.
Separately, the firm is also representing Molson Coors in the antitrust aspects of its proposed acquisition of SABMiller’s interest in their U.S. joint venture, MillerCoors.
