Cleary Gottlieb is representing SUPERVALU on the antitrust aspects of the acquisition of SUPERVALU by United Natural Foods for approximately $2.9 billion, including the assumption of outstanding debt and liabilities.
The transaction was announced on July 26, 2018, and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2018.
SUPERVALU is one of the largest grocery wholesalers in the United States with annual sales of approximately $14 billion. United Natural Foods is a wholesale grocery distributor that supplies natural and organic foods to more than 43,000 customer locations throughout the United States and Canada.
