Thales’ €4.8 Billion Acquisition of Gemalto

Cleary Gottlieb acted as global antitrust counsel to Thales in connection with its €4.8 billion acquisition of Gemalto.

This acquisition creates a global leader in digital and identity security. Following an agreement with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice on February 28, 2019, the completion of the transaction was announced on April 2, 2019.
