The Nature Conservancy’s Inaugural $350 Million Green Bond Offering and $62 Million Bond Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented The Nature Conservancy (TNC), as pro bono counsel, in an unregistered offering of $350 million 3.957% taxable green bonds due 2052 and $62 million taxable bonds due 2025–2033.
The bond offering priced on February 24, 2022, and closed on March 4, 2022. The proceeds of the offering will be used to finance and refinance a variety of TNC’s eligible green projects, which include work to protect coastal areas, support sustainable fisheries and forests, and promote the renewable energy transition by advancing solar and wind development.
J.P. Morgan and Loop Capital Markets acted as underwriters for the bond offering.
