Two Cleary Gottlieb Deals Win 2020 India Business Law Journal Awards

Two deals on which Cleary Gottlieb advised have been named 2020 India Business Law Journal Deals of the Year:

• GlaxoSmithKline in the sale of a 5.7% stake in National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange-listed Hindustan Unilever, the largest secondary sale on the Indian stock exchanges to date.
• Schneider Electric and partner Temasek Holdings in Temasek subsidiary MacRitchie Investments’ acquisition of Larsen & Toubro’s electrical and automation business (also recognized as a “Star Deal”).

The deals and cases were chosen based on transactional data, submissions received from Indian and international law firms, and interviews with India-focused legal and corporate professionals.

Cleary was also named among the 15 “Key Players” for India-related deals in India Business Law Journal’s 2020 report on law firms operating in the region.
