World’s Largest Copper Producer in $1.15 Billion Debt Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented long-standing client Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco), a Chilean state-owned company that is the world’s largest copper producer, in a U.S.$1.15 billion Rule 144A/Regulation S offering of 3.875% notes due 2021. The offering, for which HSBC Securities (USA) and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA) acted as initial purchasers, priced on October 27 and closed on November 3.
