World’s Largest Copper Producer in $750 Million Debt Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented long-standing client Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco), a Chilean state-owned company that is the world’s largest copper producer, in a $750 million Rule 144A/Regulation S offering 4.500% notes due 2023. The offering, for which HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA), Inc. acted as initial purchasers, priced on August 6 and closed on August 13.
