World’s Largest Copper Producer in $950 Million Debt Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented long-standing client Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco), a Chilean state-owned company that is the world’s largest copper producer, in a $950 million Rule 144A/Regulation S offering 5.625% notes due 2043. The offering, for which HSBC Securities (USA), Merrill Lynch and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA) acted as initial purchasers, priced on October 10 and closed on October 18.
