Cleary Gottlieb and partner Sebastian Alsheimer were featured in The Deal’s “Who’s Helping Whom H1 ‘26: Legal Advisers – Defense” report, which recognized the firm’s position as a leading advisor to corporations navigating shareholder activism situations.

The feature highlighted the impact and hire of Sebastian Alsheimer as Head of Cleary’s Shareholder Engagement and Activism Defense practice, as well as several of the firm’s recent notable representations, including Synopsys in its activism defense and negotiated cooperation agreement with Elliott Management, Voya Financial in its defense against an activist campaign led by Toms Capital, and KBR in connection with agitation by activist investor Engine Capital.
