On March 25, 2008, the United States Supreme Court issued its opinion in Hall Street Associates, L.L.C. v. Mattel, Inc., addressing the scope of judicial review of arbitral awards in United States courts. The attached Memorandum provides a summary of this decision, with particular emphasis on some of the questions that it raises regarding the scope of judicial review of arbitral awards outside of the provisions of the Federal Arbitration Act.
