On April 21, 2021, European Union negotiators reached a provisional agreement on a European Climate Law, in the form of a new Regulation.
The EU reaffirmed its commitment to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, and set an intermediate target of reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030, compared to 1990 levels.
