Cleary Gottlieb opened its Paris office in 1949 before almost any of our peers. As a result, we are often referred to as “the most American of French law firms.” Our Paris office has approximately 100 lawyers, most of whom are members of the Paris Bar and a large number of whom are also U.S.-qualified.

Reflecting the firm’s overall commitment to creating a seamlessly interwoven legal practice, Cleary’s Paris office is not departmentalized by specialty. Our core capabilities in Paris include corporate, tax, securities, antitrust, and litigation and arbitration. We offer our clients premier knowledge of local law as well as cross-border insights.

Our lawyers also have had international experience, including rotations in one or more of our offices around the world; they are fluent in managing international transactions and dispute resolutions and collaborate easily with global colleagues. They all handle a wide variety of assignments and work cooperatively to share abilities across practices and jurisdictions.
