Aron M. Zuckerman’s practice focuses on domestic and international commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, development, and financing of real property.

He routinely advises banks and investment funds in a wide variety of mortgage and mezzanine financing transactions, including securitized, balance sheet, and construction loans, with experience in the negotiation of complex co-lender and intercreditor arrangements. He also has significant experience representing investors in acquiring, developing, operating, and selling commercial real estate, including the negotiation of joint venture agreements, master development arrangements, and leases.

Aron joined the firm in 2011 and became a partner in 2020.

  • Goldman Sachs in numerous mortgage and mezzanine real estate financings, including its origination of $1.05 billion in mortgage and mezzanine loans to refinance the Fontainebleau Miami Beach and an $800 million loan to affiliates of Starwood Capital secured by a portfolio of 134 select service hotels located across the United States.

  • Grupo Financiero Inbursa, as lender, in numerous construction loans, including loans totaling $225 million for residential and retail projects at the Miami WorldCenter development and $590 million of senior project financing in connection with the construction of a manufacturing plant in Texas.

  • Empire Resorts Inc. in its development of the Resorts World Catskills casino and hotel in Monticello, New York.

  • Qatar Investment Authority in its acquisition of a 24% stake in a $5.6 billion portfolio of Fifth Avenue-Times Square properties owned by Vornado.

  • AllianceBernstein, as lender, in a $170 million loan to finance the redevelopment of the historic May Hosiery site in Nashville, Tennessee, into office, retail, and residential space.

  • The Nature Conservancy’s Cumberland Forest Project in its $130 million acquisition of 253,000 acres of working forest land in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia from The Forestland Group.

  • Ports America, as tenant, in its lease of the Manhattan Cruise Terminal from the City of New York.

  • A leading asset manager, as mezzanine lender, in the construction financing of the Sky View Parc luxury condominium project and of a 12-story residential condominium project located at 40 Bleecker Street in New York City.

  • A private equity firm in its acquisition and financing of a portfolio of 19 office and retail properties across the Southeastern United States and the negotiation of a joint venture to develop a regional mall in Ohio.
