Harry Nettlau’s practice focuses on domestic and international litigation and arbitration.

Harry has acted as counsel to both claimants and respondents in a wide variety of commercial litigations and arbitrations before various courts and leading arbitral institutions. His further experience includes acting as counsel in complex multinational mergers and acquisitions and post acquisition corporate restructuring.

Harry joined the firm in 2014. From 2011 to 2012, he was a stagiaire (Referendar) in our Cologne office.

  • A North American automotive group in a DIS arbitration with Düsseldorf seat under German law relating to a supply agreement.

  • A leading retailer in Latin America in an ICC arbitration with New York seat under German law relating to a post-M&A dispute.

  • A leading automobile manufacturer in consumer litigation cases related to emissions.

  • An Italian company in an arbitration under Swiss Rules (SCAI) with Zurich seat pursuant to Swiss and Italian law relating to a sale and purchase agreement.

  • A leading telecommunications group in relation to licensing agreements, FRAND licensing, and arbitration proceedings.

  • Agfa-Gevaert Group in defending a series of related ICC arbitrations under German law alleging over €1 billion in damages related to the sale of the company’s former consumer imaging division. To date, arbitral tribunals have dismissed over €750 million in claims against the Agfa-Gevaert Group and awarded Agfa-Gevaert Group over €10 million in costs.

  • The German subsidiary of a Belgian-based company that manufactures ecologically sound cleaning products in connection with numerous issues relating to unfair competition.

  • A European airline in a Milan Chamber Rules arbitration with Milan seat under Italian law relating to a consulting agreement.

  • IMS Health, a leading global provider of information and technology services to the healthcare and life sciences industries, in its acquisition of certain Cegedim information solutions and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) businesses for €385 million.
