Huw Thomas’ practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, equity capital markets, and general corporate matters.
He advises sovereign wealth funds, government-related entities, listed companies, financial institutions, private equity firms, and multinational corporations on complex cross-border transactions across a broad range of industries.
Huw recently completed a secondment to an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, where he advised on fund investments, co-investments, secondary sale transactions, and portfolio and asset management matters. His experience also includes a secondment to a UAE government entity, advising on complex M&A transactions, joint ventures, and general corporate matters.
Huw joined the firm in 2026. Prior to joining Cleary, he was an associate at another U.S. law firm in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and previously practiced at a Magic Circle law firm in Dubai.
