James F. Munsell’s practice focuses on domestic and international financial and corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, workouts and restructurings, and bank and other financings.

He also has extensive experience in public and private capital markets transactions, including mortgage and other asset securitizations, representing issuers as well as underwriters. James is actively involved in the firm’s Russian practice and the firm’s Latin American practice, particularly capital markets issues by foreign private issuers.

James joined the firm in 1969 and became a partner in 1976. From 1973 to 1977 he was resident in the London office, and from 1980 to 1983 in the Hong Kong office. 

He is a member of the American, New York State and City Bar Associations, and an Overseas Member of The Commercial Bar Association of London. From 1967 to 1968, he studied Russian while on active duty in the United States Marine Corps
