João Francisco Barreiros specializes in EU and Portuguese competition law.
He advises clients on a wide range of antitrust matters, notably restrictive practices and merger control proceedings, both before the European Commission and the Portuguese Competition Authority, as well as on litigation before the EU and Portuguese courts. João has worked extensively on cases related to a variety of economic activities, including financial services, electronic communications, chemicals, automotive, and healthcare.
João joined the firm as a stagiaire in 2015 and rejoined as an associate in 2022. Prior to rejoining the firm, he worked as an associate at an international law firm in Lisbon and gained valuable insights as a Blue Book Trainee in the Competition Law Team of the European Commission’s Legal Service.
