Melissa Gohlke’s practice focuses on domestic and international dispute resolution, including complex investigative and regulatory enforcement matters.

Melissa regularly acts on behalf of multinational corporations and financial institutions in connection with regulatory enquiries and internally identified issues in relation to a variety of subject matters, including securities regulation, sanctions allegations, and white-collar criminal matters. She has experience representing clients before a variety of domestic and international authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as the UK Serious Fraud Office and Financial Conduct Authority.

She has also represented large corporate clients in commercial international arbitrations pursuant to major institutional rules.

Melissa joined Cleary Gottlieb in 2013. From 2016 through 2018, Melissa was resident in our London office. In the first half of 2017, Melissa was seconded to HSBC’s Global Litigation group in London, where she managed a variety of global matters for the bank, including internal investigations related to anti-money laundering, fraud, and employment discrimination, as well as complex U.S. civil litigation.
