Melissa Gohlke’s practice focuses on domestic and international dispute resolution, including complex investigative and regulatory enforcement matters.

Melissa regularly acts on behalf of multinational corporations, financial institutions, and investment firms to respond to regulatory enquiries and investigate self-identified issues related to a broad array of subject matters. Having spent two years in Cleary’s London office, Melissa has particular experience handling matters spanning multiple jurisdictions

She has represented clients before a variety of domestic and international authorities, including the U.S. DOJ, CFTC, SEC, and FINRA, the UK Serious Fraud Office and Financial Conduct Authority, and other foreign enforcement authorities. She has also represented large corporate clients in commercial international arbitrations pursuant to major institutional rules.

Melissa joined Cleary in 2013. From 2016 through 2018, she was resident in the firm’s London office. In the first half of 2017, Melissa was seconded to HSBC’s Global Litigation group in London, where she managed a variety of global matters for the bank, including internal investigations related to anti-money laundering, fraud, and employment discrimination, as well as complex U.S. civil litigation.
