Nathan McKinnon’s practice focuses on fund formation across a range of alternative strategies, including private credit, private equity, infrastructure, and other asset classes.

He also advises on secondaries, co-investments, and GP stakes transactions.

Nathan represents fund managers, investment advisors, and other financial institutions in structuring, establishing, managing, and advising private investment funds.

He has a broad range of experience across various asset classes and different types of private funds, including, in particular, private equity, venture and growth, credit, infrastructure, renewables, impact, and real estate funds. This experience includes advising clients with respect to fund-of-fund structures, separately managed accounts, co-investment arrangements, and continuation funds.

Nathan also advises clients on carried interest structuring, incentive schemes, and sponsor commitments in the private funds space. In addition, he has experience advising significant investors in respect of their investments into private investment funds.

Nathan joined the firm as a partner in 2026 from another major international law firm.
