Penelope L. Christophorou’s practice focuses on commercial financings and creditors’ rights, including advising and negotiating secured transactions, securities and digital asset holding arrangements, structures to reduce credit risk and regulatory capital, derivatives, structured financings, workouts, and DIP financing.
She also advises on close-out and netting rights under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and other insolvency regimes. She represents leading U.S. and non-U.S. financial institutions, clearinghouses, corporate borrowers, private equity, and sovereign clients in these matters.

- Chairperson of the Uniform Commercial Code Committee of the American Bar Association from 2009 to 2012. She previously was chairperson of its Investment Securities Subcommittee
- Chairperson of the Uniform State Laws Committee of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York from 2000 to 2003
