Susanne Zimmermann’s practice focuses on European and German competition law.

Susanne joined the firm in 2024. In 2014, she was a stagiaire in our Washington, D.C. office and from 2015 to 2016 she was a stagiaire in our Cologne office.

From 2017 to 2023, she worked for another international law firm in Düsseldorf.

Notable Experience

Prior to joining Cleary, Susanne’s experience included:

  • Car parts manufacturer HELLA on all competition law related aspects of its 6.8 billion takeover by French car parts supplier Faurecia.

  • Agricultural trading companies HaGe Nord/BSL in cartel proceedings by the German Federal Cartel Office in the plant protection products’ business.

  • Industrial and technology group thyssenkrupp on all competition law related aspects of the sale of its mining business to FLSmidth.

  • Intralogistics group Jungheinrich on the acquisition of Storage Solutions, Inc. 

  • Copper producer and recycler Aurubis on all competition law related aspects of the proposed sale of its Flat Rolled Products’ segment (Flachwalzsparte) to Wieland-Werke.

  • thyssenkrupp in cartel proceedings by the German Federal Cartel Office in the heavy plates’ business.

  • HELLA on all competition law related aspects of the sale of its shareholding in HBPO to co-shareholder Plastic Omnium.

  • HELLA on all competition law related aspects of its sale of FTZ Autodele & Verktoj and Inter-Team to Swedish car parts supplier Mekonomen.
