William B. McGurn has an international practice, focusing on international litigations and arbitrations and cross-border acquisitions and joint ventures.

William joined the firm in 1972 and was a partner from 1981 to 2011. He was resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C., and Paris offices for several years before moving to Paris from 1986 to 2001. From 2001 to 2011, William worked in firm’s Rome office, and he returned to the Washington office in 2012.

Prior to attending law school, William served as Lieutenant in the United States Sixth Fleet. He is a past president of the American Chamber of Commerce in France, and serves as a director of various nonprofit organizations.
