April 14, 2021

Cleary Gottlieb counsel Laurie Achtouk‑Spivak participated in the second session of “Changing the Rules: Politics, Policies, and Party Autonomy.”

During the event, Laurie joined in discussions of a wide range of topics, including:

  • Summary judgment and expedited proceedings.
  • Do institutional rules devised for commercial disputes work on the frontiers of arbitration (ISDS, environmental and human rights claims, etc.)?
  • Transparency: What is being opened up and to whom?
  • Conclusion: Do we have a meaningful choice among institutions?

The webinar was part of the New York International Arbitration Center’s Virtual Arbitration Club and was co-presented by  Asafo & Co.
