Cablevisión Holding’s $750 Million Acquisition Financing in Connection with Merger of Cablevisión and Telecom Argentina

Cleary Gottlieb represented Cablevisión Holding S.A. (CVH), an affiliate of Grupo Clarín, Argentina’s largest media group, in its recent $750 million acquisition financing.

The financing was obtained in connection with the merger between CVH’s subsidiary Cablevisión S.A. and Telecom Argentina S.A., in which Cleary is also representing CVH.

A consortium of Argentine and international banks extended the financing to CVH in the form of an 18-month bridge loan. The proceeds of the loan will be applied primarily to increase CVH’s indirect equity interest in the merged company.
