May 25, 2026

Cleary Gottlieb announced today the promotion of Amaryllis Müller to partner in its market-leading competition practice.

Based in Brussels, Amaryllis focuses on digital regulation, including the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and related regulatory frameworks governing competition in digital markets across Europe. Her practice also covers all aspects of European and Belgian competition law, including cross-border merger control, abuse of dominance proceedings, cartel investigations and antitrust litigation including follow-on damages claims.

“Amaryllis’s promotion is a testament to her extraordinary talent and the importance of digital regulation to our clients,” said Cleary Managing Partner Jeff Karpf. “As the digital regulatory landscape in Europe continues to evolve at pace, Amaryllis’s deep expertise positions the firm at the forefront of advising clients navigating these novel and complex regimes. Her elevation reflects our continued commitment to investing in the areas that matter most to our clients.”

Amaryllis has extensive experience advising leading technology companies, digital platforms, and multinational corporations on compliance with the European Union’s Digital Markets Act and regulatory aspects in the digital economy. She has been at the center of several landmark matters shaping the application of Europe’s new digital regulatory framework, and she previously served as senior antitrust counsel at a major social media company.

“Amaryllis is an outstanding lawyer who has built a strong reputation in the rapidly evolving field of digital regulation,” said Jackie Holland, partner and leader of Cleary’s EMEA Competition Practice. “Her sophisticated understanding of the DMA and the broader European digital regulatory landscape, combined with her strategic approach to complex challenges and experience in-house, enable her to provide excellent advice to clients. Her promotion is richly deserved and strengthens our ability to deliver best-in-class advice in this fast-growing area.”

Amaryllis’s promotion underscores Cleary’s strategic investment in digital regulatory capabilities, an area of increasing demand as technology companies and established businesses alike grapple with the implications of the EU’s sweeping regulatory reforms. Cleary’s antitrust and competition practice is widely recognized as one of the leading practices worldwide, and has been ranked #1 for global antitrust by Global Competition Review for the past four years.

“I am delighted to become a partner at Cleary,” said Amaryllis. “The firm’s global platform, collaborative culture, and market-leading antitrust and competition practice provide an ideal environment to continue advising clients on their most complex and consequential challenges. I look forward to building on our team’s work at the forefront of the DMA.”

Amaryllis’s elevation follows the promotion of 16 antitrust lawyers to partner across our global platform in the past three years (nine of which were in EMEA), bringing the total number of antitrust partners to 39 globally, and 24 in EMEA.
