Cleary Gottlieb Wins Asian Legal Business International Law Firm of the Year

For the second consecutive year, Cleary Gottlieb was named International Law Firm of the Year by Asian Legal Business at its 2017 Korea Law Awards, held Thursday, November 16, in Seoul.

Cleary was also recognized for its work representing Samsung BioLogics Co., Ltd. and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., as the selling shareholders, in Samsung BioLogics’ KRW 2.2 trillion (approximately $2 billion) IPO of common shares—the fourth-largest IPO in Korean history. The firm garnered three awards in total for the IPO—Equity Deal of the Year; Technology, Media and Telecommunications Deal of the Year; and Deal of the Year.

The ALB Korea Law Awards “pay tribute to the outstanding performance of private practitioners and in-house teams that have significantly contributed to the evolving legal landscape of the region.”

ALB honored the firm earlier this year for Equity Market Deal of the Year at its Philippine Law Awards and Midsize M&A Deal of the Year at its Hong Kong Law Awards.
