Cleary Shortlisted for Global Competition Review 2017 Awards

Cleary Gottlieb has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Global Competition Review 2017 awards for our work on 10 matters in 2016. 

Each year, GCR recognizes law firms and lawyers who provide “creative, strategic and innovative” solutions for antitrust matters.

The following deals were selected as finalists in the case/team categories:

  • Merger Control Matter of the Year – Americas: Abbott Laboratories/St Jude Medical
  • Merger Control Matter of the Year – Americas: Air Liquide/Airgas
  • Merger Control Matter of the Year – Europe: Airbus Safran Launchers/Arianespace
  • Litigation of the Year – Cartel defense: iiyama’s LCD and CRT UK follow-on claims
  • Litigation of the Year – Cartel prosecution: Teladoc v Texas Medical Board
  • Behavioural Matter of the Year (Agency) – Europe: DG Comp trucks cartel settlement
  • Behavioural matter of the year (Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa): Samsung, LG and Apple complaints to KFTC about Qualcomm
  • Matter of the Year: AB InBev/SABMiller
  • Matter of the Year: DG Comp Google investigations

In addition to the team awards, three Cleary partners have also been shortlisted for individual accolades:

  • Lawyer of the Year - Under 40: Elaine Ewing
  • Lawyer of the Year: George Cary
  • Lawyer of the Year: Nicholas Levy
