Cleary wins “Finance Team of the Year” at the British Legal Awards

Cleary Gottlieb won the “Banking and Finance Team of the Year” category at the 2025 British Legal Awards.

The British Legal Awards stand as the benchmark for excellence in the UK legal sector. These prestigious awards honour the standout achievements of law firms, in-house teams, chambers, and individuals who are driving the legal profession forward.

This is the firm’s second major recognition in this category this year after winning the same category at the 2025 Legal Business Awards in October. The Cleary Gottlieb debt finance team was also shortlisted for “Finance Team of the Year” by The Lawyer Awards and was recognized for Standout for Sustainability by the Financial Times at the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards Europe 2025.

This string of wins comes after several other high-profile shortlistings and commendations for the firm, including “Transatlantic Firm of the Year” (The Lawyer Awards) and “International Law Firm of the Year” (Legal Business Awards).
