Cleary Gottlieb represented Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco), a Chilean state-owned company that is the world’s largest copper producer, in securing a $320 million loan facility from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) for the development, construction and operation of a metals processing plant to be constructed in Mejillones, Chile and the export of certain metals to Japanese customers pursuant to long-term offtake agreements.
