Cleary Gottlieb represented NaTakallam, a social enterprise organized as a New York limited liability company, in creating template contracts to govern NaTakallam’s language-learning programs with universities and corporations.

NaTakallam was created in 2014 as a direct response to the Syrian refugee crisis. Its mission is to connect displaced Syrians with Arabic language-learners worldwide to provide opportunities for language practice and cultural exchange via Skype. NaTakallam’s platform not only offers affordable and flexible Arabic language practice with native speakers, but it also provides income-generating remote work opportunities to displaced individuals living in Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt, and across Europe. It reports success in building refugees’ economic empowerment, developing their marketable skills, and fostering friendships worldwide.
