Cleary Gottlieb represented the Republic of Argentina in a registered USD bond offering of an aggregate $9 billion.
The transaction launched and priced on January 4, 2018, closed on January 11, 2018, and yielded three series of bonds: 4.625 percent bonds due 2023, 5.875 percent bonds due 2028, and 6.875 percent bonds due 2048.
This offering was the Republic’s first USD new money issuance registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission since returning to international capital markets in April 2016.
