Roger Cooper Named to Bloomberg Law’s 2026 Unrivaled Litigators

Cleary Gottlieb partner Roger Cooper has been named to Bloomberg Law’s 2026 Unrivaled Litigators, which features lawyers who lead the legal profession in high-stakes trials and settlements.

In his interview with Bloomberg, Roger discusses leading the trial team that defended Juul Labs Inc. in a complex investor dispute in the Delaware Court of Chancery in 2023. The March 2024 trial involved a $1.27 billion capital-raising transaction that, but for the litigation, would have converted about $2 billion of Juul Labs notes into equity. He shares how a disciplined focus on the contract terms, a successful highly expedited discovery timeline, and an exceptional team effort led to a highly favorable pre-ruling settlement that confirmed the validity of the debt conversion.
