November 29, 2022

Cleary Gottlieb successfully assisted Successful Imperfections Inc. (Successful Imperfections) on a pro bono basis with forming a nonprofit, drafting its corporate governance documents, and securing its tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Successful Imperfections was formed to provide education, mentoring, counseling, advocacy, and a voice to incarcerated women reentering society. In cooperation with the Louisiana Department of Corrections, Successful Imperfections prepares incarcerated women for their reentry into society, their families, and the workplace. As a formerly incarcerated woman, the founder of Successful Imperfections has experienced these challenges firsthand and devoted herself to helping others through this transition. Successful Imperfections offers women transitioning to post-release life counseling, mentorship, educational and employment resources, and care packages to support their reentry.
