Cleary Gottlieb associate Valentin Rougier joined the faculty of the Royal University of Law and Economics as a guest lecturer, contributing to the course, “International Arbitration in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”

In his lecture, Valentin explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping the landscape of international arbitration—from streamlining case management and enhancing evidence analysis to predicting dispute outcomes. Alongside the opportunities AI presents for greater efficiency and insight, he examined the complex challenges it introduces, including concerns around data security, confidentiality, transparency, and accountability.

The lecture offered participants a nuanced look at the ethical considerations, procedural safeguards, and evolving regulatory frameworks that will define the future of AI-assisted cross-border dispute resolution.
