Cleary Gottlieb lawyers were selected as “Litigators of the Week” finalists by The American Lawyer Litigation Daily for their victories in two separate matters.
Cleary partner Victor Hou and co-counsel earned runner-up honors for getting prosecutors in the Southern District of New York to drop their criminal securities fraud case against client Michael Carroll, the former CEO of shopping-center owner Brixmor Properties Inc.
In a separate matter, Cleary lawyers Jon Blackman, Larry Friedman, Carmine Boccuzzi Jr., Alexis Collins, Mark McDonald, Katherine Lynch, and Rathna Ramamurthi were named finalists for securing an end to 16 years of hard-fought, high-stakes litigation brought under the U.S. Anti-Terrorism Act against clients National Westminster Bank and Credit Lyonnais. The Second Circuit upheld a summary judgment ruling in favor of the banks that previously landed Larry and Jon “Litigators of the Week” honors back in 2019.
